Not In My Lifetime.
It's 1:15 am.. I just got back from my niece's wedding.. and it was.. different .. not what I was used to.. but nice all the same.. I only have this to say about the reception... WTF!!!
l guess I should give a bit of background information... my spouse wandered off doing her own thing.. as I prefer it that way... so when I happen to come into close proximity of her by accident.. she motions me over.. and has been talking to the head of the catering company... they have been talking for awhile.. and in a short period of time.. they have been getting to know each other a bit.. as I approach.. this woman.. who's name is the same as my spouse.. is saying.. "I just seem to know him.. he looks like John.. somebody" My spouse then starts with a sales pitch of how great of a guy I am.. and what I do teaching computers.. and this woman starts striking up a conversation with me in front of my spouse.. she even talks about how handsome I am... she mentions that she is going back to school and dreads her computer class... my spouse tells her that I'm a wiz with teaching.. and offers my assistance to help her out... If I didn't know better.. with all the things I'm hearing... I feel like I'm being pimped out...as then my spouse gives her my number and then asks me.. it's okay if she calls you if she needs help.. right??? ....ummmm.. I like helping people.. but this is just weird.. I can definitely tell this woman is interested in me.. and my spouse not only doesn't seem to have a clue.. she's pushing me to be in contact with this woman.. all I can say is... nooooooooooooooooooooo... I don't want to be mean to anyone... but this just has "freaky" written all over it.. and I want no part of it. This person seems like a really nice person.. but I am not in the market for this... at all.. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.. but it just doesn't feel right at all. I am trying to figure out how to brush this person off even if I ever get a call from her... maybe she was interested in my spouse... that would be a hoot... LOL. If that's the case... I will more than give her my blessing. I'm seriously considering my policy on being rude on purpose.. but if there is any.... forward aggression by this person... I'm gonna go ballistic on her.. Just all and all it has been a weird day.. I was wearing a very nice suit and felt comfortable at the wedding.. even though a Catholic service is a new experience for me... I enjoyed the reception.. the food was awesome.. but not having been privy to what was said before I got pulled into the conversations by the two Beths... I am at a loss on how to react... I maintained my professionalism... I felt I was tactful... but there is no way in hell my spouse is going to set me up with someone.. whether she knew what was it looked like.. or not... it ain't happening.. not in my lifetime.

DeleteIn light of the situation that would definately be a new way of preparing someone for their course in computers lol. Ironic pimping convo aside hopefully your niece has an awesome marriage... they start out fine but don't always end that way.
