Just Let It Go.

I think people are like the beanboozled jelly beans you can buy at the candy store in the mall.. two flavors look exactly alike.. one good.. one horrible..  I bought a few of these boxes for my students and they had a field day with them.. the brown ones.. the best and worst of the bunch.... either chocolate pudding... or canned dog food.. and believe me.. the canned dog food is enough to make most people wretch.. the point I'm getting at.. is that on the surface.. people can appear to be as normal as anyone else.. it's when you start going deeper.. actually bite into the jellybean itself.. when you find out what you've got..  some of them aren't so bad either way... like banana/pencil shavings ...not that pencil shavings are all that great.. but everyone has their own tastes... the blue.. berry or toothpaste.. another one not so bad.. but the red.. uggghh.. strawberry jam or centipede...  well.. I don't know who was the taste tester for these.. but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want that job.. they hit the nail on the head for most of the flavors...    Anyway.. getting back to my analogy.. if you just let the jellybeans sit in your mouth.. then you can't tell what they are.. you have to bite into them.. (the jellybeans.. not the people)  to know what you've got.. unless you're a vampire.. but don't go telling everyone you read in a blog that you're suppose to bite into people.. unless you're into that sort of thing.

Sometimes we tend to do things out of habit... just because its something that preoccupies our time.. and keeps our mind busy... I've done that a few times  myself.. but I never want to get into the mode where I think I have to do something just because I've always done it.. or it's just what I do.. there should be some sort of logical choice in our mind.. like.. I enjoy it.. but then.. we have to look at why do we enjoy it?  is it because it provides stability in our lives.. something that doesn't change?  Sometimes change is for the better.. sometimes changes throws our whole world out of balance.. I suppose that's something we all need to look at on a case by case basis.

I was told once that I shouldn't negate the past just because it didn't turn out okay.. well.. I suppose that depends.. there are high times and low times.. sometimes with any event... or series of events we have to look and see.. do the high times outweigh the low times... for the most part.. I would have to say no.. that's why I have been so pessimistic about things... many times the bad times  continue after the event is gone... over... but we have to gird up our loins (I always wanted to say that) ... and fight for better times... fight to overcome our past.. and just let it go..
