I Care About Those That Care About Me.

Most of us don't think about what we do sometimes.. but I think everyone has a degree of self-consciousness.. We try to pose for the camera.. we try to say things that we think people want to hear.. I think most people just seek recognition and acceptance.  I guess I might have a degree of that.. but I try to overcome those limitations.. I'm proud of who I am.. because it's me.. the only time I am ashamed of how I am.. or what I look like... is when I have let myself go.. or when I choose to be someone else... I think everyone has a wonderful person trapped inside of them.. and there are several people who have let that person show most often.. but everyone tends to let someone else show on occasion.. some people show that so often.. that they actually forget who they really are.  I say this to everyone.. either be proud of who you are.. or change.. the choice is always yours.   Those people who can be themselves.. are the ones I can consider friends.. those that can't.. well.... I really never knew you personally.. I only knew the people you showed me.. and believe me.. it's not the real you.  Before anyone gets all butt-hurt and thinks I'm talking about someone specifically.. I'm not.  I have little bits and pieces that come to mind.. and several people have fit this description at times.. I just hope they grew out of it.  I don't keep fake people in my life... as I've said before.. destructive forces in my life aren't welcome.  I work to be supportive as best as I can to those people who are my friends.. but just because you say you are.. doesn't mean anything to me.. I have had a few people in my life.. that have chosen to be there through the good and bad times.. and I'm a better person for having known them.. there are other people that run away from me at the first sign of trouble.. and even if I didn't want that at the time.. it's much better that they did.. they showed their true colors.. and I'm a better person for not having them in my life.  I care about those that care about me.

Not In My Lifetime.

It's 1:15 am.. I just got back from my niece's wedding.. and it was.. different .. not what I was used to.. but nice all the same..  I only have this to say about the reception... Something I Have Learned Well.

It's odd how we interact with others on so many levels... one would assume by my wide range of references that I have a large assortment of friends.. In all actuality, the people in my circle of friends could be counted on my hands.. and close friends... well..  easily on one hand. I'm not what I would consider a social butterfly... but to be honest.. I sometimes like crowds.. I enjoy having groups of people around me.. I don't stick out like a sore thumb.. and sometimes getting lost in the rest of the world... isn't such a bad thing. How often do you go and "people watch" ....and then think about those people once you're gone... not very often, I'm guessing.. not unless one did something completely out of the ordinary.  I just like having the feeling that I'm normal.. an ordinary person... Everyone has an agenda.

How do we know how what repercussions will arise tomorrow from our actions.  I am atop my tower... watching the world from up here.. I see so much lies and deceit from up here.. I honestly do trust a few people now.. to a varying degree.. I just don't know when they can be sucked into a situation.. or do things they wouldn't normally do... based on misinformation.. or their perception.. I see so many people get tricked.. into making poor decisions.. People are gullible. The world is full of traps and deception. I think sometimes people get the idea that life is a game.. that dating requires intimacy...
